A holistic aquaponics system: a living pond, not a plastic tub

Not a plastic tub behind the shed

Most aquaponics resources give you the biology and the plumbing. What they leave out is the design thinking that decides whether your system becomes something you love living with, or something you tend out of obligation.

A holistic aquaponics system is designed like a landscape: a pond that catches the light, fish moving beneath the surface, vegetables and herbs growing around the water, a cascade, birds and insects coming back. It produces food, and it becomes the heart of your garden.

This training walks you through the whole process, from choosing where it goes to planting the pond, so your system is productive, beautiful and low-energy.

What the training covers

10 modules, in the order you will build.

1 · PositionWhere to place your holistic aquaponics for light, access, visual impact and harmony with your garden.
2 · Ratio and dimensionsHow to size the pond and grow-beds from the biological relationships at work, so the system can balance itself.

5 · The linerOrdering and applying the liner so it lasts and stays hidden (with a time-lapse of a full lining).
6 · Bell siphon and cascadeThe grow-bed siphon and the cascade that brings movement, sound and oxygen.
7 · The water pumpChoosing and installing the pump, keeping energy use low.
8 · FiltrationKeeping water quality right without over-engineering.

Is this training for you?

A good fit if…

  • You want a system that looks like it belongs in your landscape
  • You are drawn to ecological design and natural cycles
  • You want real fish and vegetable production at home, year after year
  • You are ready to invest in a real physical build (liner, pump, plants)

Probably not for you if…

  • You want a quick result with no build work
  • Aesthetics and ecology don’t interest you: Easy Aquaponics may suit you better
  • You are looking for a commercial farming venture

Questions

How do I access the training?

Right after payment you are taken to your training page, where all the videos are. Bookmark that page so you can come back to it anytime.

How long do I have access?

There is no expiry. Watch the videos as many times as you need.

Is prior experience required?

The training builds from first principles. If you are completely new to aquaponics, Easy Aquaponics is a good companion to understand the mechanics first.

What size space do I need?

The method adapts to compact urban gardens as well as larger properties. The first modules guide your layout decisions for your own site.

Is it only about food production?

No. Design, ecology and beauty are as central as food production: that is what makes it holistic.

The price is in US dollars. Can I pay from elsewhere?

Yes. Stripe accepts cards from most countries and converts the amount automatically.
